Carolina Orsini (1972), archeologist, specialized at Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, and holds a PhD at Università di Bologna (2005) with a thesis on archeology of Sierra de Ancash (Peru).

Since 2003, she has been the main curator of the archaeological and ethnographic collections of the Comune di Milano, now exhibited at the Museo delle Culture, of which she curated the first permanent exhibition (Oggetti d'incontro, 2015) and the current exhibition dedicated to globalisation (Milano Globale. Il mondo visto da qui, 2021), as well as several temporary exhibitions and two catalogues raisonnés. She has also realised several exhibitions at national and international level. She is the author of several monographs on Andean themes, including two volumes on the Incas, two on the populations of central northern Peru and numerous scientific articles in different languages.
Since 2019, she has been on the Advisory Board of the Jornanas Internacionales sobre los Textiles Precolombinos y Amerindianos.
